This manhua /c-drama (which is a perfect adaptation by the way. You should watch it on YouTube or the official site, but it’s not really good with subtitles) did the age gap right! Unlike other manhua which feel like pedophilia. I will never understand people that are like

“This manhua is just as bad as the other ones. The ML watched her grow up and is a pedophile”

Like gurl? Did you read it? I read the other ones all the way and could tell their peso. But this manhua isn’t the same since he didn’t watch her grow up. He was there for some part of her childhood. And then left.

Unlike the other ml’s which basically their father /brother figures. In this case, he’s just her brother’s best friend. He comes over a lot, but isn’t the level of family. Same goes for the ml’s pov. He had a tragic life and The Sang Family was always a place of comfort for him.

He only fell for her after spending time with her after reuniting when she was an adult. He didn’t fall for her as soon as he laid eyes on her. They spent time together and Zhi’s feelings for him came back. So, I want all those people to buzz off. If you were a novel reader, my argument would’ve been even stronger.

(Most of these stories had epic potential. Great Art and Amazing Plot. but the creepy pedo romance aspect ruined it and I dropped them)

First of all. In other stories their is a way bigger age gap. In HLCBC THE AGE GAP IS 7 YEARS.

In other stories it’s atleast 10 years since the ml and fl met when one is an adult and the other is a child. Also it can be choked up to being like a childhood romance. As someone who has a child friend. I can never imagine being in love with that person since we knew each other since we were kids. But in media knowing falling in live with someone you’ve known since either one was a child is kind of normalized. The same Cant be applied to these stories, but the psychology can. Someone whose always been there for you and never left your side. Can make you overly attached to that person slowly turning into romantic affection.

Also the age gaps are may more in over manhwa. “I belong to house Callisto” the ml was her personal knight that was with Estelle (FL) since she was 10. And When The Estelle confessed her feelings at 18. He rejected her, but in Emel’s pov. Emel was in love but did it to protect Estelle by going back to his family. I don’t think it should take long for one to realise what’s wrong.

HE WAS IN LOVE WITH HER FOR WHO KNOWS HOW LONG AS SOON AS SHE BECAME LEGAL.

It doesn’t even make sense how he fell for her. They’ve always had a father-daughter kind of relationship. Honestly, the fl’s feelings don’t make sense either. But, crushes like that do happen so I can ignore it. Like dude something is definitely wrong with him. Idk how such an over-protective father even allowed them to get married. Their daughter will probably have many questions.

In “The Tyrant’s guardian is an evil with”. The title says it all. The FL is reincarnated as an immortal evil witch and has the responsibility of raising the Tyrant and make him not evil. She is his legal parent. The ML falls for her. Which makes even less sense then the FL (Estelle) falling for ML (Emel) in the earlier manhwa. She was his mother figure. Maybe, since she was his only solace, but it still doesn’t make sense at all. The FL is even less justifiable. The evil witch that she possessed was madly in love with the Ml’s ancestor. (TBH that love story was adorable). Which makes it feel like Dating your Husband’s Great-Great-Great Grandson. The FL although is isekai’d. She is an adult from the modern day and falls for the child she raised (giving him baths and all). The only good character was the butler R. I. P

I didn’t read “little princess mint”/”Little lady mint”. But, know most of the story through Tiktoks and spoilers. The ML is the legal guardian of the FL whether it’s nit technically adoption. Her feelings don’t make sense but then again kids can get crushes easily and The ML was a shining light of hope and safety for her.

I really loved the story and art. And like most of the comments on the Insta of the artist of “I belong to house Callisto”.

There was also a maid x her master kid manhwa. And the cover alone told me all I needed to know

“the Princess has fun today again” I don’t remember the name well. But I dropped it for 2 reasons

1. The ML may be 2000+ years old, but the fl was an adult and he was in a child’s body. Idk how she chose HIM out of all the least pedo looking options.

2. The art was not my thing. It bothered my ocd like instincts. I would’ve read the novel instead, but spoilers threw me off and I dropped it

Although this story isn’t all that bad and don’t at me about Wmmap. Because they only fall in love as adults. And he turns his body to be the same age as her. In most cases the immortal 200000000 + age gap is okay. But not always. In Wmmap according to the novel. People that possess high levels of mana are basically immortal and don’t age much depending on levels of mana. So Athy is immortal like Lucas.

IDK any others, but if one more person says that this story is pedophilia. I’m gonna bonk them on the head. I mean, my uncle and aunt are cousins and grew up together. They have a 10 year age gap. But you don’t hear me saying my uncle is a pedophile. Since they knew each other since both were kids. And got married when my aunt was in her mid 20’s. There is no pedophilia but then again. In other cultures it might. Be since in Islam cousin marriage and age gaps are normal

(forced marriage isn’t normal. They had a love marriage. It’s haram in Islam to marry someone off without consent. That marriage doesn’t count in terms of religion. I don’t wanna here terrorist muslim and breaking human rights shit either).

I believe in cases that as long as both partners were children like a maximum 12 year age gap then a relationship can be considered okay as long as they form romantic feelings as adults. If their is an even bigger age gap then it isn’t considered okay if they’ve known each other since the other one was a child. Those relationships are only okay if they met for the first time as adults.

A 10 year age gap seems alot and I’d draw the line there, but I’ve seen many non-pedo romantic wholesome relationships with a 15 or 29 year age gap so, I didn’t wanna be to constructing. I do think that 12 year age gap is when I draw the line.

Anyhow. I only ranted since I saw a tiktok by a mutual about how HLCBC is pedophilia. I didn’t say anything since we’re mutual, but I wanted to rant. Since the novel made me a person you rarely cries or has any reaction to literature cry for 2 days straight. Since the story was so heartwarming. They truly deserve each other and no matter what you say. I will never change my mind no matter how many angry mobs attack me

There is a spinoff story more focused on (Sang Zhi’s brother) Sang Yan’s love story. I think a cdrama is also being produced on this but different actors were casted.
It is based on Wen Yifan’s POV so Sang Yan may be different from Sang Zhi’s POV on this manwha

Firstly, its a manhua . It is not completed in this version but there is drama adaptation of the ‘Hidden Love’ book , there are some changes but its beautiful.
