The rating is likely low because the FL is one of those very annoying girls built purely for silly romantic love and nothing else. So she was extremely ill suited to basically everything else in life. She could not handle politics, she could not handle being an Empress, she could not handle fighting to maintain her husband’s affection, and she could not handle pressure or disappointment that reality is complicated. She soured into a Karen over it. Her second time around, she is smarter about certain things, and more aware that she was a silly, stupid twit, but she remains on the naively oblivious side, though the Karen prickliness remain as well. Hopefully it improves.
