   I left bc i can’t keep up with the dumb/mary Sue/clueless/ childish/elementary school humor of FL. But if u can ignore that its pretty fun. At least in the beginning.

   The medical parts are its strength. I like that they’re not super ridiculous. For example, she is a nurse, so she is stuck relying on good hygiene practices and patient care. She doesn’t suddenly sprout knowledge of how to make medicine or start performing surgeries. Simple admin improves things greatly.

   I also like that this has realistic view that the emperor did some pretty brutal stuff to become emperor, like kill all of his siblings on false charges. There’s no “it was all a misunderstanding!”

   And the modern FL’s approach for influence is unique. The country is cold and has no sugar cane. She finds sugar alternatives to improve their economics.

   However, I suspect the author isn’t super comfortable with writing the medical stuff, because the food side is continually (over) emphasized. It quickly goes from incredulous stretch that she is able to make super difficult treats like macarons on extra-hard mode without a recipe and using only sugar substitutes, to absolutely ridiculous, as suddenly she knows how to make chocolate from the beans and process her own sugar.

   The author also keeps glossing over that the emperor has 13 legal wives and has declared that the first to get pregnant gets to be empress–so he is sleeping with these different women. The FL often expresses sentiments or takes most modern people would find bizarre but I suspect are necessary to make the plot work, even if they are unnatural.

    I like it. It is a desert + medical knowledge related one. It is kind of nice and enjoyable to read. It leaves me every time with a warm feeling and a smile on my face. The update is not very frequent though.

    It’s a food/medical one. It’s not necessarily reinventing the wheel here but I’m a fan of desserts and the brief and basic of medical knowledge are accurate so I think it’s a cute and fun read right now

    Y’all hear about how judges are harsher in their judgments when they’re hangry? That’s my first impressions of the emperor and our FL is the solution to that. Probably.
