I dont think its plot armor or he makes no sense at all. Besides, its been pretty much explained in the chapters later on. I’d say, this story and the plots are well written

ML makes no sense. He finds out that FL is going to the Duke’s mansion for sketchy reasons, and literally invites her in. He finds out that she intends to pair him with a literal child, he lets them stay in the mansion?? Let’s go plot armor.
For a sMaRT ML, he makes the dumbest decisions just for the sake of the plot.
