Honestly, the ML didn’t have to siege her castle for two weeks. He had only to meet her like normal and she’d fall for him at first sight.
He could’ve come up with the war excuse later only if getting her out of the prior engagement proved more difficult. But the author is basically saying a stud like that has no confidence in himself that he can win over the FL without resorting to a forceful scenario.
That’s pretty hard to believe. I guess there were no mirrors in that time.

The 2nd ML looks like he really love and care for her. I feel so bad for him. Though I know FL doesn’t have feelings for him.
