Majority people commenting here really don’t know or understand how complex the characters are in Stepmother marchen. They are not written like 2Ds fluff characters. Jeremy’s feelings for shuri are 100% valid and understandable. He deeply loved her in both timelines and looks at her the same way Nora does, the only difference is that Nora can act on his feelings for shuri while Jeremy can’t because of the relationship he has and what burden it would put on shuri. He understands that and has mentioned multiple times he would be anything shuri wants him to be for her.
Also they are only 2 years apart. Imagine living with someone as gorgeous as shuri. Jeremy places his family in very high regard and cares for them, so seeing shuri an outsider doing so much for him and his family, sacrificing so much. Shuri is kind, lovable, enchanting and exhibits so much warmth so how can he not help falling in love with her?? Also he knows his father only brought her shuri to act as the head of the house until Jeremy matures cuz he knew he was dying and Jeremy was too young to handle the house affairs at that time. So shuri was basically trapped here because of Jeremy and Jeremy felt so guilty about it. He knows he shouldn’t love her, but he is so pitiful because he does love her romantically and so unconditionally too. However, he still wishes she finds someone who deserves her and would never act on his feelings for her.
Whats really shocking is how so many people didn’t know Jeremy was absolutely in love with her in both timeliness when it’s so obvious. Even his fiance suspected he cares too deeply about shuri and its not just familial love.
In all honesty, I have no idea what this story is supposed to be about at this point it makes no sense at all! What even is the end of this story does anyone remember what it meant to be about?
