Honestly I feel bad for both, the duke is simply following how he was raised and sees that as the norm because it was the norm for him growing up. With him having time to reflect in this version of the present. He’s having new feelings and realizing the wrongs of how he was raised. Hence, realizing how he has wrongly raised his own children in turn. Remember guys, we growing up knowing only how we are raised and unless we are taught a better way of doing things. We continue that cycle through generations. For example: If you growing up in a house that spanked their kids, you will grow up and spank your kids in turn, because that is how you were raised. And as far as you’re concerned, you turned out just fine from that treatment. Until you have a child that rebels and hates you for raising them like that. Which in turn helps teach you that such a method was wrong or just might not work for every child.
But, it’s you who desperately wished to reverse time for your daughter and you did, you even gave her the will so she will be the one to remember. You’re a father that don’t know how to show affection but it’s not too late for you. Don’t turn your back again and be the old you. You need to change!!!! I’m still rooting for you!
It’s always disappointing to see so many hateful comments in these kind of manhwas. I don’t know why it’s so hard to understand her father’s perspective. Her father was raised this way, just like she was in her first life. He was raised by his parents and society to think this was right. He knows inside that it’s not, but he doesn’t even have the words to explain why. He can’t even conceptualize it. He just knows he’s unhappy and lonely and unworthy and he wants her forgiveness, but he doesn’t know how to ask for it. He is as trapped as she is. Everything he’s ever been taught is telling him what he’s doing is right, and all he has is a love for her that he doesn’t know how to express telling him that it’s wrong.
It would be a wonderful story if she realized this and helped save him while she’s saving herself. But in the meantime, it’s not like there’s an ounce of malice in this guy.
