I do like the twists in this in that its not just a typical time reversal where she’s changed into a completely new person with no mistakes. Change does take time and its often frustrating for the person watching (or reading) when a person relapses. In this sense, its realistic. She was a villainess and though she realized her mistakes, it doesn’t mean they won’t relapse and make the same mistake again, even on a smaller scale. Change is hard and difficult when it comes to habits and mindsets.
But as a reader, I want her to be happy, so watching this struggle within herself of being a villainess and living for herself is hard. She was in the wrong. As was bernard for how he treated her. But Bernard isn’t a hearless villain. He is actually complex and trying to change for the better and not be a coward as Rayna pointed out to him and she has a chance to change too and move on. Just aaaarrrgh.
