I’m so stressed and annoyed. In the end if her family had to choose they’d obviously pick Amarillys it’s obvious by the amount of trust they had for her and the amount of time they spent with her. Asharte will always be an outsider. And that’s basically it the secret never came to light and Amaryllis still got treated and buried in the royal fashion. I’m honestly not understanding how we the readers are made to feel happy later if the fact that Ashtarte’s life was ruined still remains she grew up in a harsh life, missed out on her childhood, etc. and to be honest I kinda blame her mother as well. Running away did not protect her daughter but instead lead her to a sad life. How the heck did Ashtarte even got brought back to the castle anyways.

@Uncreative, they were influence by black magic and the people Astarte saved are a soldier who lives in the slums and everyone else lives in an isolated palace. They wouldn’t know until this was happening and even if they spoke up there are too few. The king can’t do it because he’s also just finding out, and an insurrection could make a lot of people lose lives if he stands up for her. People like to think the king is all powerful but they aren’t if the people rebel.
