No why is this MC saying he was complacent. He simply did not have any intention to save the child. He fought while his opponent was being blackmailed. Don’t tell me he was complacent. He was there while when the whole thing happened. He could have waited for that sword guy to clear his back off backstabbers before having a great duel but no, and that’s just what happened, that’s his choice. He could have saved an innocent girl being taken hostage before starting don’t make him out to be regretful now.
