@Riyena well I agree with your third point and disagree with the rest because in your first point I have to ask an important question, what’s Being a coward to begin with? Because by your point people like Sun Tzu who are cunning can be also considered as cowards because in fighting, it’s never about fighting fair, it’s about who ultimately won a brutal perspective I know but that’s just the truth and I can see and acknowledge your point that she tried to portray herself to win fair and square but that’s more of a strategic lie, a cunning lie I suppose as their family value brawn than cunning which is in my opinion stupid as being cunning is one of the most important thing on being a general and being a ruler in general.
As for you second point his brother has become an wild animal, he already went insane and paralyzing him? What made you think that would make anything better? That would just cause unnecessary suffering while death is just that, the final destination, after that just no suffering just him ceasing to exist, there’s a reason why in ancient Greek killing is seen as mercy to your enemies as it would relieve them of unnecessary suffering that will happened if you kept them alive and as for your other points she’s raised that way we’ll everyone in the family is raised that way, survival of the fittest I presume, in their family killing on another is considered as normal from the things i’ve seen so far and about her being the head of the family I can see her actually being a pretty good contender because we gotta to remember ruling is not about brawn it’s about brains, call me biased to cunning but it’s just the truth, most emperor’s who succeed are almost all cunning, smart, resourceful because those are traits that are fitting of a ruler
@Kilonovae, There is nothing wrong in proving one’s worth but at the end method matters a lot.
Let me explain what’s wrong here:-
1. Liribel is trying to set her image as someone who won fair and square against her brother solely relying on her own strength which was not true. She poisoned him then killed him which shows her cowardly nature. She is as well disrespecting the diseased (I don’t thing anyone care for that in this case).
2. She could have just paralyzed him for the rest of his life, there was no need to kill him. This shows her vicious nature. A person who can kill their own sibling without even baiting an eyes, do you think in anyway she is fit to become the head of the family, is there any guarantee that her subordinates can be safe under her wings?
3. Bayan was a very strong contender who was in par with Belus (Calypso’s eldest brother). Letting Liribel’s plan to succeed means letting one more strong rival to arise which will strengthen Leribel’s image in Ocula’s (Their grandmother) eyes which is not favourable for Calypso.
Point to note:- Though Ocula favours Belus but her preference is someone like herself (A strong and smart girl who can lead the family). Currently she is purely and solely interested in Calypso.
Why though, she just wants recognition from her family and honestly considering she is actually trying to actively achieve what she wants I’ll give her credit for it, she has the means, reason and action to achieve power and recognition so what’s really wrong with her?
