I think this are because of a misunderstanding between the emperor and Ingrid. I think if both of them have time to really know each others likes without killing your lover’s people then maybe Ingrid gave more chances to the emperor as the emperor truly loves Ingrid to the point that he will do anything just to have Ingrid stay by his side and to love him also. He’s sincere though.
