   Matthias is complex to understand. Layla accepted his complexity, understood the motivation behind his actions and focused on his positive traits while acknowledging his flaws. She understood that he might not always make the Right choice but he’s doing everything for her. She appreciated him for who he was at his core, She loved him despite his Morally ambiguous behavior, potentially by seeing his internal struggles and capacity for GOOD even when he was making questionable decisions.

   This novel provides realistic views about how Duke falls in love with commoner Layla when their status is causing their relationship to be forbidden. Unlike other novels nowadays which are making it look easy to marry a man with noble status. They had to go through so much emotional turmoil to be together and had to break social norms.🦋🦋❣❣

   DUKE Matthias is a MORALLY GREY CHARACTER. Matthias is not clear cut Good or Bad like a Morally grey character. Such people knows what they are saying or doing at the moment would cause harm/damage but they do it anyway because they focus on their ambition at that moment. After finding the damage they caused, they feel remorseful and try to control the damage. Instead of saying sorry, they seek redemption. I think Matthias’s actions are similar to Morally grey characters than Red Flag. I think we should pay attention to intention behind the actions of such characters instead of their words.❣
