But also I think she needs love on an emotional level too and he’s literally telling her that its a foolish emotion that will fade, in other words she now thinks that a relationship with him will never develop into love because he doesn’t fundamentally believe in it.
And if she does accept his proposal as it stands now than what? She likely won’t get to leave cause it’s not 100, she also won’t be able to pursue the other love interests in case Callistos affection never raises higher after marriage.
