This really is kind of what I felt from Jade since the flashback to children where he was warm with Olivia for a short while. The little sister was too young to understand what was going on with their mother and didn’t clock anything about what was going on with Olivia who took the blame within the family. Only really understanding Oliva wasn’t well liked in the house and not in the position to criticize her father and brothers. Then Jade was the old enough to know mom was gone and needed someone to blame and blamed Oliva with the coincidence of Olivia arriving and the family falling apart so even as he grew up, he held on to his anger. And due to that anger, he never paid attention to what was going on around Oliva because he wanted absolutely nothing to do with her and likely didn’t even allow people to talk about her around him. The eldest brother is the only one who was old enough to know better and was just hurtful.

Maybe just maybe he can undo some of stuff he’s caused due to his lack of awareness but even then he sucks as a brother and knowing Olivia’s character she might forgive him but I hope she stands on business
