I liked this story for its slight realism, but this particular scenario is ridiculous. The guy with a gunshot wound to the heart has 0 chances of survival, and in general, should have been long dead. Plus, such a difficult operation would require way more than 30 minutes and highly advanced equipment. The other guy, on the other hand, is in a more reasonable position, both politically and physically.
