Thanks for agreeing. I too think she lost her power because of same reason. Those power was bestowed upon Saint and Saintess so that they can treat people equally but she because a person who chose some premium clients (high ranking Nobel/Royalty). TBH Diana have many setback and flaws which she just doesn’t to consider. She thinks she is always right and the whole world revolves around her. She thinks that her actions and thoughts are for greater cause when in reality it’s doesn’t even have the same value as “use and throw pen”. She is selfish, hypocrite and Narcissistic. Even when Helios truly wants to save her she just doesn’t want to look at the bigger picture due to her stupidity. If she have a child no one would be able to remove her from the throne. Obviously it depends on those two when they want to start the family but after everything which wa transpired she doesn’t have a choice.
I like that Hes can’t let it go, it shows she’s still flawed and blinded. Caelus is happy with her but Hes has made her revenge her whole sense of being and Caelus knows it’s hurting her.
Everyone realized that Hess is no longer seeking revenge for Kael, but for herself. Her vengeance became her reason to remain in this world. However, she gained a new reason: Kael’s reciprocated love. Unfortunately, she became so consumed by revenge that even after achieving what she had always dreamed of — the downfall of Helios and Diana — she refuses to let go. She’s clinging to the false notion that apologies must be sincere, when in truth, even if Diana were to apologize with complete honesty, Hess still wouldn’t accept it.
Kael isn’t making decisions as a Duke, but as a man in love — a man watching his wife unable to move forward in their relationship because she’s obsessed. Kael is afraid. He’s come to realize that she will never be satisfied, because he’s noticed that Diana is incapable of offering a truly sincere apology. And if that’s the only thing Hess is using as justification, when will the revenge ever end? Never.
Another reason Kael doesn’t want to go through with stripping Diana of her position is because he knows what it means to hit rock bottom. We saw his shock when he realized he once chose not to continue living due to the pain he was in. And because of that, Hess is trapped in this cycle of revenge — because she witnessed his suffering. He doesn’t want Diana to reach the same depths he did if she loses everything. He doesn’t want to carry that guilt, especially knowing how deeply his death affected Hess. He doesn’t want to become a new version of Hess — someone who drove another person to the brink of despair.
And finally, someone had to stop Hess, because she no longer wants Diana alive. Things are moving toward Diana suffering the same fate Kael did in the original version. He doesn’t want Hess to bear the burden of blood on her hands, or to live with regret afterward. He knows this decision will hurt her, but it’s the only way to convince her to stop — he has to be the one to deliver the final blow. And that doesn’t mean betrayal. After all, the revenge was supposed to be for him, and she forgot that long ago, since she no longer considers his thoughts or feelings.
