Yup, Helios is blinded by his love and maybe in spite of Hestia; also very irresponsible to not checking on her wife investment that costs nobles and temple (the people donations) loses. Helios is also to be blamed.
+ being a crown prince is hard, I get it. But when a massive decision that can alter the lives of other people occurs, he should put aside his feelings and use logics. No matter HOW many times you guys defend him, it doesn’t change the fact that decisions must be made with their feels aside. He failed to see the warnings, he failed to use his brain and got blinded by love. And didn’t check how much budget his wife gave away to Baron Pothos. That’s stupidity on a highly-influencial level.
Yeah but it doesn’t change the fact that Helios, as a crown prince, made stupid mistakes. Yes he is human, but he holds one of the highest authorities and must be careful in what he says and does. I understand that he married Diana out of love, I don’t blame him. But threatening Hestia when she said the ship will sink? Even when Hestia repeatedly proved herself to be correct? Helios already knew smth was wrong with Diana, he simply blinded himself and wanted to suppress Hestia coz of it. That clearly backfired and he is suffering the consequences. Just think, why would Hestia even say that about the ship if she wasn’t so sure of it. He didn’t think that, this situation is not just abt nim, Diana and Hestia. Its to do with the nation, and he didn’t THINK. Stop defending him as if he wasn’t warned, given signs and other stuff
Completely agree with the person defending helios. You guys praise hestia so much that you sound midless jesus christ she is a smart character, one would think that liking her would mean sharing similar traits. Helios and hestia both feel very human, more so than diana and kaelus at times because their flaws and qualities are flashed out.
For such a “frugal” person, Diana had no problem spending other people’s money to prove her point. A year’s worth of money from what sounds like a charity is insane.
I disagree the the crown prince is a “bastard”. He is the embodiment of bad choices. Choosing to marry someone he thought he loved quickly. Deciding to punish his friend for committing murder by cutting him off (which kind of makes sense so I don’t hold this against him), not believing Kael would harm himself (I do blame him for this but he was convinced Kael would never be that weak), protecting his wife (which a husband should do), trying to support her despite evidence against her and keep their marriage, and finally getting to the point of understanding that his wife isn’t who he thought she was and cannot accept her own hypocrisy. Helios feels like a real person making very bad relationship choices and stuck in what is becoming a toxic relationship. Even Diana is very realistic. She’s not cartoonishly evil. She’s one of those people who believe they are in the right no matter what and sees herself above others while thinking she is righteous. At this point, she wants to be proven right and that’s all, not noticing her hypocrisy, though she has been forced to question. I like that no one is evil and just humans with bad decision making skills. As much as I love Kael, I think legally, him committing murder is still the worst thing out of everything that has happened. That being said, let me marry him.
