@Ayemeshimitsu you’re right with the part that “if it’s in real life, one would call the police cause Kael killed someone even though they’re bad”, but you’re wrong about two things. First, Kael did it for them, so that they could have a peaceful life, so in real life, they might call a police (might) but will probably stay friends. Second, saying Helios didn’t understand why he did it is a big BS. I don’t know of you forgotten but they clearly stated that before acting, he definitely told Helios about the plan and he agreed. The only reason he stay away from Kael is because Diana being a green tea righteous bitch says so. What I hate about Helios is it’s not even because he left Kael, it’s the betrayal he did because of a woman, then he now has the audacity to use both of them because he can’t do anything right. And he dared to fall in love with Hestia. TF
This is another chapter that shows why I love this series. Everyone feels very human. Helios isn’t evil, just got married caught up in the high of his love and though he loves Diana, he can’t ignore what he’s starting to notice despite wanting to defend her. Diana who got everything she wanted not adjusting well to finally being told no, saying some things right (like nobles should live frugally and try to live by example) but not understanding how the real world works or politics becoming naive and vindictive as she never learned to cope with being told no. Helios and Diana being repulsed by Kael’s actions (seriously if Kael did what he did in real life you’d probably call the police but because its a romance fantasy where killing is okay as long as its the bad guys, the readers are on his side) and cutting contact. Helios cares about Kael, but never understood why his actions would have driven Kael to what he did or how bad Kael’s condition was. All the bad actions or decisions I can see real people making in everyday life. No over the top evil, just some plain human flaws and shortsightedness. Even Hestia messing up and spilling evrything is very human. Keeping that secret so long, terrified something will happen to Kael and just ends up telling Helios everything. You could wonder why she said that too him, but its not something she can tell Kael about that she saw his and her death and its easier to tell someone she already slipped up to.
