@Sugerata, there is a book written by a philosopher named Martin Buber called I and Thou. A basic breakdown of the concept is two different ways people treat others the first is the I-thou, this is when a person(I) treats another(thou) as the unique person they are from genuinely listening all the time they’re with them and seeing them as a person. A two sided relationship. While I-It is when a person(I) treats another(it) as an object. I-it interactors interact with in order to gain something, because they need it. Love for example. They NEED them to be with them, deathly, or the world collapses. A one sided type relationship (even if the other person loves them back, the person is ultimately doing all this for themself, “I NEED THEM” kind of thing) This is usually tied into past experiences forming a sort of disorder or complexes or just genetics. That’s why there are two types on love. Those who are happy to just see the person they love happy because they see them as their own person. And the other, who cannot live without the person they love because they feel they will “die” without them.
@Sugureta I highly disagree with your mindset. People love in different ways, and for Are and many others, just seeing theyre loved one happy even if it isnt with them is enough, that they dont need to ask for more because that is what they think is enough for them, just because you think differently shouldnt mean you should make negative assumptions :/ Personally, I don’t think that kind of love is superficial at all cus some people love selflessly like that. Sometimes their first thought is “I want to make them happy” and it doesnt neccessarily have to be by their side as the other person’s happiness is their priority.
I really hate this kind of love ” if you truely love someone you can let them go “. Really? I think this kind of love is superficial. Like you are just giving a reason to let somebody go because you are tired.
If you love them truely then you will do anything for them to love you.
