Siyun is screwed in the head but when it comes to the person he loves (which is jeongmin) he’d do whatever it takes to make her happy, to keep her safe, and fix himself to get better. In my opinion, other manhwa’s ml are much toxic if you compare them to siyun. Siyun was also compared to other red flag characters but those red flags were mentally and physically abusing their “loved ones”. The difference is that siyun may have tortured people but those people were the ones who wronged him and jeongmin. It doesn’t excuse his actions and he knows its wrong but he’s trying his best to get better and get help mentally.
