I’m so glad to read the comments that I’m not alone in pitying Killian. That’s totally how villains are formed. Yeah, he wasn’t a great guy and was a bully but noone ever tried to reach out to see what his needs were or even attempted to redeem him. It’s a shame really and I’m not sure I want to continue reading just to watch him fall into further darkness.
Killian and Lexion are the Golden Child/Scapegoat Child dynamic, and that’s just sad. Anyone that doesn’t know, it ‘s one kid can do no wrong, while the other can do no right. Killian was put on his path by a negligent father who didn’t think he could do anything right and was never there for him. He is a product of the Duke’s making. I don’t find this satisfying; I find it heartbreaking. He could have stood a chance if he had been shown compassion, love, and acceptance at some point by his emotionally abusive father. Instead, he’s now cemented into the role of a villain.
Ah that’s sad. That’s how villains are made. Though it’s not her responsibility but because she was already meddling. I wish the FL could’ve told the Duke to give a little more love and attention to that guy. That’s literally all he needed. But she never saw that part. And ultimately well I pity him, and disappointed it had to happen this way.
