I don’t hate Emel but I have to admit that I didn’t like him but after reading the novel I changed my mind :). It’s just that we’re just used to seeing male leads who are cool who are almost perfect with everything they do. That Emel seems ridiculous because he makes mistakes yet he is so human. And in my opinion Emel is one of my favorite protagonists along with Nora and Callisto❤
The reason why Emel does not say anything to Estelle is because in this way he believes that she will hate him so that the moment something happens to her, she will not cry or feel bad because it happened to her (this is explained in the extras of the novel). Besides that he is a ML of weak mentality and with problems of low self-esteem (this is reflected more in the novel). Also due to the fact that Emel does not want the imperial family to harm Estelle and her beloved family as Emel knows how precious her father and brother are to her. Emel is one of the few protagonists who risk a lot for the FL.
