My guess is that because they were never childhood friends.
They’ve meet when they were still on the street begging for food and he gave half of his bread to her. They started talking, became friendly with each other, but that’s that. It was mentioned that she became the maid of Roseanne and this is my take on this: she remembered the kid with blonde hair, who gave her half his bread and that’s why she was supportive/friendly towards him.
Problem is: Kiel never meet Roseanne, because he got reverted back when he was 18… at the time, when he should have meet her. That’s the whole point why the FL used the power which took her (and him) back 10 years, because she wanted to move 4 years into the future and be done with the story.
In short : Kiel was just before meeting his “friend” from the past, before getting reverted back to an 8 year old.
