I didn’t even notice despite it being clear as day from the last chapter! It wasn’t until the prince had to nerve to propose to her that I was like “Why is she dressed like a swan bride for just an appointment?” “Why are there SO MANY -empty- bird cages in one room?!” And then it all came together! Heavy-handed, but very clever and set up so early in the scene. Lucia, don’t let him do it. RUN to your knight!

I love the symbolism of the bird. The dress with the feathers and him asking her to be with him, while showing us bird cages. It was so beautiful, she is so gorgeous. I really do love this story and art work it makes me so in awe to she this level of skill.
