@Lily the flower, I get what you’re saying, but like the witch explained, she can only take a soul that wasn’t meant to exist according to fate (as in the original story). So, the people you mentioned would have always existed. Meaning they wouldn’t count. I don’t think it’s a huge loss; it’s more like having an abortion. They can always try for another baby. That said, losing a child, even one you never got to knew, is still heartbreaking for a mother, so I’m curious on how this will unfold.
