So instead of telling her what happened he is going to hide it “for her own good” and them she will remember by herself eventually, will misunderstand it and think he is like her ex-fiance because he didn’t tell her when he had the chance, so she will start acting distant and business like and he will misunderstand that she doesn’t really like him or something and them we’ll have chapters of this stupid ass misunderstand and they acting cold towards each other and hurting until they finally resolve the issue. Why can’t authors not go the “misunderstanding” route? Why can’t they just have characters be SMART and just say what is happening? There a dozen different ways to create conflict for the main characters so why is it always the “I saw something without context and the other person is hiding from me so now I’ll assume the worst” Ugh
