I understand that ghost are scary. However if you’re someone who is born to see ghost then why are you still scared of them? I thought while you grew up with this ability you get used to seeing them around. So why is it that she is still scared to see them? I understand she doesn’t want the ghost to posses her. However all she has to do is ignore the ghost so they won’t know she can see them. I dont know…. it just doesn’t make sense to me. Maybe I’m thinking about characters with similar abilities like this MC. For example the TV series ghost whisperer, and the movie Paranorman. Where these two MC had the ability to see ghost their entire life and they aren’t scared of them.
Hmm… I guess it boils down to “not being scared because they are GHOSTS, but scared because THEY are ghosts”. Just give me a sec and I’ll explain… or die trying. X’D
As you’ve read around the middle, she wasn’t afraid of ghosts at the start and they also wanted to be her friends, but there were others who tried to use her body to take revenge on others. That is the scary part for her, what the ghosts might do with/by her. If she kills someone because she was possessed, it will affect her family/siblings in a very bad way (her being in jail, the kids losing their Manson, not being able to pay for food or medicine, aso).

So in short, she is afraid of what they might do and she doesn’t want to have anything to do with them. Or at least, that’s how I see it. 🙂

Okay. I would be scared or at least annoyed too. Because if the ghost knows you can’t do anything to them… And there is no way to punish the ghost. Of course everything would be so damn scary.
