I guess because FL did not looked at him properly during wedding coz she was so scared about the rumours. And it was too dark during night at the room, she did not recognized him at all. She did met him in the garden before. I can’t wait for him to shave and show his handsome face. Haha
She saw him once in a non-scary way – weak (not feeling well but not violent), harmless (on the ground, looking short), in a well lit, well visited place she know and feel comfortable in. Very different from the wedding night where he was big and scary in an unknown place, his territory while she is completely under his control.
She did said she didn’t saw him properly at their weeding and seems like she didn’t know “he” is the Duke either since This is their “only” prior meeting before marriage (probably) which why jade was surprised they didn’t have prior engagement/meeting

So she met him already, and proceed to get scared af on their first night and fainted????
