Somehow Arsene feels so fake to me. He is absolutely NOT what he appears on the outside. There doesn’t seem to be an ounce of sincerity in his words. Moreover, it just feels like he is having his own share of amusement by mocking Regina.
I want to see a stronger Regina who looks him in the eye and doesn’t blindly believe every crap that comes out of his mouth.
No offence to other readers who like Arsene. He might be a “God” as according to the novel you have read and I also know that they both are going to end up together (of course that’s the plot).
But for me the story ends when she runs away from him and I would imagine the rest of the story as “Arsene never gets her back. And Regina gets her freedom and maybe someday a better person too.”
Men hating women, I can still endure but mocking women …. I just can’t digest it.
