Honestly it seems to be a theme with chinese manga. Anytime these authors try to implement their “comedy” in the stories its most of the time just not funny to me, must be a cultural difference. The hyper focus here on mental and physical abuse started getting old after the second time it happened. I wonder if people from china actually find this funny.
I agree with Cahill the author is being mean just bcs, there is no real reason to treat them like that, first the poor horse and now they have a toxic relationship, poor horsey, then they bullied the princess, she was going to do something nice to her and now she abandoned her.
