My main reason for keep reading this is for the childcare and found family. It’s a rare to see the plot of a female lead work hard to protect her found family from the worlds.
I actually like the progression of the story “now”. But it was still beyond cringy (ie I was screaming at FL to run away only a few chapters ago). Don’t get me wrong these types of stories where we watch the MC just try to survive in a fkd up world can be entertaining/therapeutic but every once in a while I find the alternative characters beyond the MC (like the dumb blond princess or the other dumb blond trying to get in between the relationship of mc and ml) to be still so cringy and unrealistic that I have to laugh. This story is only good because of relatableness of the MC. NONE of the other characters are worth reading this story for. Not the cute nephew, not the second male lead (and yes I feel bad for him and he is relatable but not enough character to stick around for), not the ML who seems to finaaaaaaaaallllly be understanding of the bassssssssic fkn unfairness the MC has to deal with. Great for you dude bro, you learned empathy/sympathy. Little to late as it probably would have served you better before you drunk poison. And let’s say it is poison, while the Duke took an extreme dose of sedative with alcohol which we all know CAN Actually KILL people, but magically due to him being super healthy he’s fine… the duchess is a smaller person. It might have actually decreased her ability to breathe…. no breathing= dead…. this was not a plot to defame this was a murder attempt. I’m not satisfied with every rich/noble jerk being able to attempt getting their pound of flesh out of the MC. In fact this whole last chapter should be alarming to everyone involved or even a few of the other nobles. Someone powerful enough is out there able to directly harm the Duke. Like sht. If there was a “noble faction” how are they not up in arms. Better question is why no one is asking these questions, why doesn’t the Duke seem to have any friends or allies even?! This makes him incredibly unrealistic. So not only is he highly respected and wealthy supposedly, but he’s also a neet? Author I commend your MC really lovely. But the rest of this world is trash. I’d love to see anyone other than the ML trying to fix it or just attempt to make palatable, maybe new allies for the ML to work with to help the MC? I dunno, I’ll try to read up to the newest chapter……..Mc just needs to be have a friend, maybe her own shady friend to combat assassins wearing maid outfits….*sigh*
