The CP might not be the best because on how he act in the the few first chapter. He has his own reason, and he also do feel terrible for putting the hate he has for the red head on the innocent princess. Like it’s normal to hate something related that hurt the person we love, which is the empress, his mother. Also he lost his father that way too. But he knows the princess is innocent and was abused. What I’m going to say, even if he said shits regarding the princess in these few chapters. But he didn’t, hopefully never, act or treated the princess horribly, yet.
