How long will they be kids? The first chapter had a fantastic premise that hooked me and THAT’S what I want to read. Couldn’t we have this as a flashback later?

Almost every time you see a story start with them as adults for a few panels then immediately switches to them as kids, they will be kids for a while. The first panels are just a teaser which from reading spoilers happens in chapter 144 of the novel.

Is the whole story a flashback? I thought it was a story about them as adults 😔
