Okay, two issues with this story. One, I hate the jump to conclusions trope. These women speculate a romance the ML has for a woman and then confirm it in their own minds as fact and act like its truth and almost hold the ML responsible for that fictional love that was never stated or confirmed. It never occurred to her that maybe Ynette was a friend he lost at a young age, a family member, etc. She just assumes lover.
SEcond, I really hate when the ML be keeping secrets about the FL past. They could solve the problem in a few minutes but keep it to themselves as to not overwhelm the FL when in reality its their own comfort their worried about rather than the temporary discomfort it might cause the FL but have the situation solved with no misunderstandings. It’s really annoying.
