I think the reason why she’s saying he is more skilled than her is because people who just learned sign language are not that expressive, and the fact that she saw that he was able to express emotion through the sign language that he learned was pretty impressive, even for someone like her, who might have been doing sign language for years, that’s why I think she commented in that way.
