they are very selfish, even Reina, she clearly knew that pointing a sword at a child is wrong, but she just walked away, she didn’t even remember the incident, they just do anything she wants disregarding the feelings of other people there, now they are putting the blame on our mc and the butler for “betraying” them, they clearly know what they did ain’t goon, but they refuse to admit it because of their fucked up ego, ITS ANNOYING
The fact that the duke doesn’t even think that what he did to the butler’s son was wrong shows how terrible this entire family is. Anyone who is perceived as a threat or opposition to the family, particularly the beloved daughter, is trampled on by the family, even if there is no evidence that they were a threat. The butler’s son was just playing with Rienna, but the Duke perceived him as a threat to her despite there being no evidence to that, and drew his sword on a literal child. He doesn’t even apologize to the butler after the incident, acting like it was perfectly normal to do so. And then he acts like he’s the one who’s been wronged by the butler when he sides with the MC, seeing the butlers reason for leaving him as a pathetic excuse. The entire family plus most of the estate dote entirely on Rienna without any regards to who is hurt whether intentionally or unintentionally. And yet they are completely flabbergasted by MC asking for a divorce, like she is the one with the problem and not them. And MC knows they would rather die than admit their faults even if it means losing the trial and further besmirching their reputation, so she offers the Duke a way out that will benefit him even if it ends in divorce.
