This story is clearly about the FL and her shining. He takes credit for what she does in certain situations bc FL wants to give him the credit. Political marriages are common in these types of setting and makes perfect sense that he handled a lot of issues in this way. Plus, he’s clearly running things day to day. As far as letting the concubines treat Ras/Lass/Larcy in any way, he didn’t care about her (or them) then. He owed them nothing. Plus when he did start caring, he immediately warned her about Concubine 2 and wanted to act, but didn’t at FL behest. I understand y’all want him to give more, but he’s giving her his power to get what she wants done bc he already has it. He just chilling. I’m okay with that.
I love the fl but the ml is just meh, doesn’t help that his design is not my favourite (the crazy doctor long black hair is more my type). He is just standing there and taking the credit for most of her work, I know this is the fl plan but so far we haven’t seen any of his actual strength to be an emperor, it seems like he fixed all the empire issues through marriage and that’s why he has so many concubines even if it seems he haven’t really done anything with them based on the words from the 6th wife.
I feel like the FL is too good for the ML lol She’s kind, beautiful, powerful, and a badass. Not to mention, she’s had such a positive impact on the empire already. The emperor is kind of just a shadow that gets the credit for her contributions. I’m not impressed by him at all.
