Honestly, I just pity Diane as she just wants to receive love an attention from the emperor but he is only fixated with her, because of her resemblance to his birth mother. But, her majesty the empress, she does not really care about Diane as her majesty is not really intimidated by Diane or anything. She just has no time and does not want to waste effort caring about her. But when she go concerned slightly, that was just her majesty being “decently human” to Diane. The fact that moved Diane makes me pity her as she had a rough start to life. I hope that in the future, she changes herself and atones for her sins. Who knows, she could end up like the mistress from the manhwa, ‘Kill My Husband’. I hope she does change, BUT OF COURSE, after she has paid the price for her wrongdoings. Honestly, most villains and villainesses could be avoided if they have nice and caring parents to love them.
I think she has like set her kind in the empress being evil and while Diane hasn’t received any love or care when she gets it from the person she “hates” or is supposed to be completing against it hurts her pride. That’s why she was crying; she wanted to feel love but not from the empress
