I didn’t expect to love this one so much

Warning for some teacher/student dynamics and he’s a crappy teacher who yells a lot. I will say that the ML is PEAK arrogant ass. He comes by it honestly though, having been born noble, filthy rich, utterly gorgeous, a genius, and an all-powerful mage. Because of this, he often doesn’t realize when he’s trampling others or really ‘get it’ when normal people have limitations or constraints instead of his Everest-high self assurance. Our FL can handle him. She can definitely handle him. But you will vacillate between admiring (and envying) his selfish audacity with wanting to smack him upside the head so he gets a clue. He is learning empathy and consequences inch by painful inch as he pulls his head out from admiring his own asshole and sees that other humans exist, but people are going to get hurt because of him as he evolves into a better person (which is the fun part, because guilt trips are delicious)

I really like this female lead. She is smart, wiley, and savvy, but still good.
To rewrite that mess of a synopsis: Cordelia married a POS who wound up in a coma after falling off a horse. When he wakes up, he seems like a different person. Turns out he is: the Lord of Atrey, a genius mage. When his younger brother tried to murder him, he transferred his soul into the convenient body of Cordelia’s comatose husband. Seeing an opportunity for mutual benefit, Cordelia offers to help him regain his strength and position in exchange for a divorce and magic lessons. She has always had some latent talent, but was never given any opportunity to develop them growing up in the impoverished, patriarchal household of a fallen noble family who only saw her as a commodity to sell on the marriage market. Her new teacher is a grumpy, prickly, task master, but she is determined to learn and come into her powers, and he starts realizing how nice it is to have someone on your side and how not to be such a defensive ass.
