I like the story so far, the only note i would make is: why is the fl’s only character trait liking raymond? Like, that’s all we know about her character.
it’s was fine but you didn’t have to marry her for such a reason “political marriage” you could have just appoint her as a political adviser or something I feel bad for the both of them one sided love isn’t goin to work as much as she expected.
But i do agree that he should have married someone else that he loves.
I do feel bad for raymond which is a surprise as I have been in the position of Elijah, pinning very obviously for someone only to watch them date others and overlook me and think of me as the good friend. Actually, its happened twice though everyone else kept asking if we were dating for how close we were. You could see Raymonds deterioration from being a kind child, to having his love taken away (which I’m thinking was on purpose by the crown prince and emperor hating to see him happy) to have his mother taken away, to just being a shell of a person. He married her for political reasons and probably believed she would not betray him and told her he didn’t love her. I do respect he was straight forward with that. Although I know he’ll fall in love for someone else, though he will be cheating, I can’t say I 100 percent blame him for it as if the story was from his perspective, most readers would want him to find someone to love and hold after such a past.
