I’m glad he isn’t complete trash. He waited to confirm legitimacy, told her his plan, and is trying to do what’s best for the empire. Unfortunately, because the FL never told him the truth since she was young when she was upset or uncomfortable, I don’t think he ever learned when she was hurting making it easy to unintentionally take advantage of her kindness.
