It seems like her parents were being lenient because 1. Alice puts on a friendly facade and is a child. 2. She comes from humble origins. 3. And it would be more believable is the FL was bullying Alice instead of the other way around. Although it is disappointing that they don’t believe the real daughter over the illegitimate daughter it might be because the FL has always been quiet and not outspoken.

Also, I’d rather she doesn’t rely on the ml too much. Who knows if he get engaged to another daughter by the orders of his father and he’ll accept it? And for sure there will be misunderstandings in the future. I don’t want a female lead who can only survive by relying on men.

Their parents are extremely disappointing! They’re so stupid that it would’ve been strange if they hadn’t had the disastrous fate they did in the first timeline. They raised their own daughter for years and then chose not to believe her word over someone who had just arrived, as if they didn’t know her character. The mother is practically a background character! And the father is so biased that, for a moment, I thought he might be Alice’s biological father, the result of some affair, but apparently, he’s just stupid! It’s painfully obvious to anyone how Alice constantly tries to overshadow her sister, always needing to be the center of everything. It’s clear she’s an envious child, and they’re just foolish adults.
