For people who are naturally good at things, like business and academics, it’s hard to understand how to teach and guide those who struggle. My direct family (my mother, father, sister and I) have never had any issue at all with schoolwork. I never once had to study to keep up with class, and I was always ahead of my grade in every subject simply because of my interest in reading and my ability to retain facts. My youngest niece, however, has been held back once and is struggling to grasp simple concepts in school. It’s been hard on all of us because we are having a hard time understanding just how to help her since we have never had to put effort into any schooling. I don’t even know how to go about guiding her to study because I have never done so myself. I feel like this is a similar concept. Grandpa seems exceedingly competent in business and social dynamics so he likely gave all the resources and teachers he thought they would need without even realizing they needed extra guidance.

I find it difficult to side with the grandpa at moments like these. Sure, his oldest is a jerk and a poor businessman…but he’s never provided guidance or training to correct that. His oldest grandsons, he also never took an active hand in guiding to be better. He’ll slam down one-off judgements that make them worse, and ignore them the rest of the time. The grandpa only likes fully-formed talents, and doesn’t bother with those who need work. Even then, he ignores people like Shannet. He’s actually a garbage manager, because he does all of the work himself and fosters no talent in those around him.
Right before this, Tia said she knows the future. That means she already has a new cheque or process to handle this exact issue. She is just waiting for it to go real bad for her uncle before she suggests the solution in front of everyone. That’s how it looks to me
While the best solution may be to bring this matter to the grandfather, if they want him to come back quickly he should not be stressed further. If they want to help the grandfather, this might be a way to show him that he can rely of them(except Viesel) for future business without stressing himself.
