The first half of this story started off strong but begins to fall flat by the second half, not to mention the ending felt extremely anticlimactic.

Regret not reading the reviews first… I was hooked when I started the story and actually read till 6am…
There was a lot of slow burn caused from FL and ML not communicating with each other – and while FL had a valid reason to do so at the start, it feels a bit illogical towards the end.
Most of the “build up/intensity” in the second half of the story feels very superficial, the first half of the story I really enjoyed – it had some interesting world/character building
But the second half of of story + ending felt so disconnected, it didn’t use any of its world building to create conflict or solutions, instead it just used one-off tricks (aka plot convenience/plot armour).
Really upset with how this story turned out, the premise was promising but alas, I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone,
