I’ve read the light novel upto his graduation and him choosing not to kill her here is correct, other wise he would’ve stayed as a comatose patient in the distant future.
well from the next arc the scope and world of the story gets exponentially larger..
Almost all the decisions he took, they would always favor him in some way.
