I thought it was more like the she-boss had her take a role as the daughter/villainess and the old dude who hired her decided to use her and instead of paying actually take her bounty. She ran away and ended up coincidentally on the prince’s ship that she apparently met 10 yrs ago and made some sort of bride promise. And because of the table conversation misunderstandings were sprouted and he probably didn’t even meet the she-boss. But I could be wrong
Well, this is a garbled mess of a plot.
I can’t tell if there was no contract out to kill/ capture her, and her boss just sold her out and staged a little play to get her onto the ship. Or if there was (in which case, her boss is total garbage for not enforcing the contracts for her) and this guy then stepped in to buy her off her boss.
