she kinda does cause she’s the only legitimate child of the late emperor. kai was a product of a fling and alice doesn’t have royal blood but edith was the child of the late empress and emperor. the only real reason as to why she didn’t take over the empire is because kai was found and by law men go first in line of succession. edith has the most influence as the only prince/princess with pure noble blood
