What @gyurius said hallucinations, I wonder if he’s actually doing everything and he’s covering his actions up thinking it’s the mermaids doing. Like his aunt disappearing he wanted it to happen so much he decided to actually do it but couldn’t accept that fact and instead used her as an anchor.
