Fun fact from the novel (it’s not a spoiler don’t worry):
Annette can understand a bit of Frenz language, because of her noble origins and private tutoring. But she didn’t get to actually learn much/ she only knows basic words and didn’t get to practice (because the countries already had bad political issues).
So I think the artist illustrated this very smart by showing us only the words she can ‘make out’ followed by omissions. And the part where she says they speak too fast is a nice addition to illustrate how difficult it’s to be around native language speakers.
